JP Duminy announces retirement from domestic cricket
South African left-handed batsman JP Duminy has decided to retire from first-class and List A cricket.
The all-rounder represented the Cobras in South Africa’s domestic cricket league and the news was confirmed by the team head-coach, Ashwell Prince on Friday.
In his List A career, Duminy has scored 7,408 runs with an average of 38.78. Whereas in T20 cricket he scored 6,106 runs in 252 matches, which makes him the highest run-scorer for the Proteas of the game.
Duminy, however, will continue to ply his trade in the shortest format of the game across the globe.
The 35-year-old has represented the Proteas in 46 Tests, 194 ODIs and 81 T20Is.
